When does a weft hair extension need refitting?

Weft hair extensions need to be refitted every 6-8 weeks. This is because your natural hair grows about 1/2 inch per month. If you don't get your wefts refitted, they will start to look unnatural and may even cause damage to your natural hair.

Here are some signs that your wefts need to be refitted:

  • The wefts are starting to look too low on your head.
  • The wefts are starting to tangle.
  • You can see the wefts through your hair.
  • Your natural hair is starting to break around the wefts.

If you notice any of these signs, it's time to get your wefts refitted. A professional hair stylist can remove the old wefts and apply new ones. This is a quick and easy process that will help you keep your wefts looking their best.

“I’m always looking for 4 main points:

•Healthy Shed
If an excessive amount is being lost there’s a problem with the installation or something is going on in the client’s life to cause excessive shed. Either way, the reason needs to be pinpointed and solved.

•No tension points on the scalp
If there is too much weight in the foundation you will get pulling. Tension points are the start of Traction Alopecia and his bald spots can occur

•No beads showing at the top
If your beads are still concealed that means that vour string tension was spot on and nothing slipped. I like using Nylon string because it does expand and contract like a cotton string does

•String still sitting on top of the weft
Meaning that, your stitches are exactly where you left them with perfect tension :)
Remember that maintenance is a 2 way street with your clients

Being educated, certified and practiced holds up your end of the bargain✔️”
