Easi Tips and Tricks to Grow your Profile

In this blog we will explain easi tips and apps that can help boost your posts and interactions on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Pinterest. Understanding what works and what doesn't is vital when it comes to posting on social media.

For hair stylists, Instagram is one of the most important platforms when it comes to promoting their business. Instagram is the perfect place to share work and get inspired. But many people struggle when thinking of what content to post and how often to post in order to gain the right interest and interactions.

Well our team at Hair Made Easi are here to help and point you in the right direction.
Try to imagine that Instagram is a person, if that person doesn’t like an image for any reason, they won’t like, comment or share it. However, if that person sees an image they enjoy, they are more likely to interact with it and share it with others.
Number one:
Make sure the images that you post are the best quality available. Either straight from your camera roll or off a search engine. What we suggest is, instead of screenshotting images; download and save them to your camera roll. Although screenshotting seems like the easier option, it can decrease the image’s quality which Instagram doesn’t like. Lower quality images are seen as unprofessional and are more than likely to be ignored by those scrolling down their feed.

Number two:
Hashtags are super important on Instagram. They can share your posts to others who don't even follow or know who you are. With hashtags you need to lay down some rules. These are..
  • Do not use the same hashtags on every post. Instagram can eventually see your profile as spam because the same hashtags are being used over and over again
  • Look at what is trending and incorporate that with the images you post. Instagram is always adapting and trends constantly change
  • Make sure they are relevant to the actual image and the caption being posted. You want the right target audience to see your posts, not just anyone
Number three:
When posting for your business, try to include branding on your images. This will make posts look more professional and allow users to see that you are an official business.
To do this we use the app Canva. This app allows you to create Instagram posts and stories, from scratch or using templates that can change and make your own. It allows you select an image, choose what size you want it to be and add text, shapes, logos and more. It even allows you to filter your images, changing the brightness, contrast and saturation of an image and making them look more appealing. The options are endless and it is so easy to use. We highly recommend.

Another great app that we use for our Instagram stories is Mojo. This app allows you to create personalised and authentic stories . You can choose templates that allow you to insert your own images and select eye-catching texts and effects. The app is very easy to use and you are able to create professional stories in minutes.
Finally, the most effective app that we use is Hootsuite. This is our saviour when it comes to Instagram posts. Hootsuite allows you to schedule your posts. You are able to insert all of your posts content and select the time and date of which you want them posting. It allows you to schedule weeks of content, which if you are like us, is a huge helping hand. So when it comes to posting content, the app does it for you and it is one less thing to worry about.

Preview is an app that we use alongside Hootsuite. This allows you to insert your scheduled posts in a grid formation and see what they will look like once they are posted on Instagram. If you don’t like how it looks, you can pick and drop them in a more suitable and appealing placement. Simple but extremely effective.

With other social media platforms, like Facebook, we use the majority of these apps to post too. We use the images created on Canva, our Facebook stories are made on Mojo and we are able to schedule posts for Facebook on Hootsuite.

Facebook tip:
When posting, try to make your captions more informal and personal. The majority of the users are on there for entertainment and intimate reasons. More business like posts are ignored. Try to build your customer relationships via Facebook by posting regularly and interacting with other users.

LinkedIn tip:
When posting on LinkedIn try to be more professional and business minded in your content. Talk about your brand, tell your story and share your ideas. This platform is filled with thousands of businesses, big and small, who you are able to connect and interact with so show off your brand and who you are.
Pinterest tip:
We highly recommend sharing your content via Pinterest. This is the perfect place for customers to find your work because a large amount of users are on Pinterest to find new ideas or inspiration. Ensure that your content is visually appealing and fits with your brand. You are able to connect a web link to each post, allowing users to have a direct click through to your website or other social media platform pages.

Social Media has become such a huge part of our lives and it can be so amazing when it is used correctly. Keep posting and sharing your amazing work and remember to keep supporting others who are doing the same!
